About Lauren Kolesinskas
Lauren Kolesinskas is a Brooklyn-based artist who graduated from Pratt Institute’s Communications Design department in 2009. With over 10 years of experience as a freelance illustrator, Lauren worked with clients such as The New York Times, Variety and Le Monde, creating visual narratives for projects ranging from editorial essays to packaging design. In recent years, she transitioned from illustration to contemporary painting, using acrylic and gouache to explore themes of anxiety, tension, and the absurdity of human existence. Through her paintings, Lauren explores the surreal contradictions of life, balancing nightmarish storytelling with a touch of playful absurdity.
